Spring is such a beautiful season! The world around smells lovely and feels fresh. The air is rich with the aroma of new bloom and my heart leaps with the surprise of flowers growing in places I didn’t expect them. Maybe some of my enchantment with Springtime is that I grew up in South Florida where flowers are a year round experience, but either way, I feel so happy in April and May.
I also feel motivated to clean! Windows open, letting in the cool breeze, music loud (but not too loud now that we have 2 babies sleeping) and the big kids working right along with me. I have started my list of things we are going to tackle next week and it’s growing. I’m excited. I like checking things off the list and I love a really clean house!
While I am in the cleaning mode, Springtime is also a good time to clean out my body and my mind. The colder months with its comforting cooked food will give way to sunny days with more fresh salads, veggies and dips, fruits, iced tea and maybe some white wine. Since I am still nursing the twins (hurray!) I am doing a very gentle cleanse, so not to overload them with a rush of toxins. I am taking a break from coffee (gasp!) and in its place I am drinking “Double Green Tea” in the morning. This is Organic iced green tea with Superfood Greens powder shaken in. A squeeze of fresh lemon juice for a detoxifying boost and some Stevia for sweetness.
As as for cleansing my mind, I am taking the Anthony Robbins 10 Day Challange to remain in a positive frame of mind for 10 days! No matter what challenges I face over the next 10 days I am going to direct my mind to find the potential for growth and joy, laughter and vitality, giving thanks in all things…even Georgia clay on Tirzah’s new shorts. It is a “challange” after all.
